Empowerment and Capacity Building
FREE EMPOWERMENT AND CAPACITY BUILDING TRAINING
The ICED Empowerment and Capacity Building initiative is an essential integrated approach to development, enabling individuals and communities to take control of their lives and enhance their well-being. The ICED capacity-building programme concentrates on developing skills, knowledge, and resources, while empowerment grants people the authority to utilise those abilities to improve their well-being.
Our approach is to train and equip beneficiaries to start earning a fortune on their own immediately. After completing the training, a functioning website, an e-commerce platform, a domain, and hosting will be set up for the beneficiaries, enabling them to establish a global presence for their businesses and services after the capacity-building programme.
As is widely recognised, capacity building involves developing abilities, whilst empowerment concentrates on granting individuals the authority to utilise those abilities to establish a knowledge-based economy.
The e-commerce market in Nigeria is expanding rapidly, with forecasts indicating a substantial rise in both revenue and user numbers. In 2024, the market was valued at $8.53 billion, and it is projected to reach $14.92 billion by 2029.

E-COMMERCE AND BUSINESS DEVELOPMENT:
Beneficiaries will receive comprehensive training in E-commerce, after which an online store with products will be established for them to start earning income.
FASHION DESIGNING
This involves explaining to beneficiaries how a fashion business creates, delivers, and captures value. It will cover various aspects, including defining the value proposition, identifying customer segments, outlining revenue streams, mapping key resources and activities, and establishing partnerships.
The programme shall address various levels of interest in fashion design.
Existing professional fashion designers:
These beneficiaries will be trained on a modern business model by expanding globally, where their designed and crafted garments and accessories will be sold directly to customers through a comprehensive and advanced online and e-commerce platform set up for them, or at markets and pop-up shops. The online store will include features that enable clients to send measurements, styles, and designs, with items delivered to any location.
Non-professional fashion designer:
This concept involves individuals with no knowledge of sewing clothes being trained on a modern fashion business model. They will be provided with a comprehensive, advanced online and e-commerce platform to sell and retail finished garments made by professional fashion designers, based on a mutual partnership model. The online store will feature options where clients can send measurements, styles, and designs, and have the items delivered to any location.
COMPUTER ENGINEERING & NETWORKING SERVICES AND SALES
Trainees will receive training in computer engineering and networking, which involves setting up modern communication and network systems (LAN & WAN) for small and large businesses, as well as residential environments.
After the training, the website will be prepared for beneficiaries to offer these services, with access to various computer configurations, networking components, and equipment whenever they have a commercial project and patronage.
AGRICULTURAL PRODUCTION, AGRO BUSINESS MODEL AND EXPORT
This program aims to increase productivity, income, and food security for farmers and their communities by promoting environmentally friendly practices and resource management, enabling farmers and agribusinesses to compete effectively in both domestic and international markets, and supporting the development and adoption of new technologies and business models.
For existing farmers,
The capacity-building training aims to enhance their skills, knowledge, and resources, including improving farming techniques, developing business acumen for agribusiness ventures, and strengthening their capacity for successful export of agricultural products. After the training, a functioning website will be established for the farmers to showcase their farm produce for global visibility and export potential. The farmers will benefit from the ICED seed bank initiative, which offers significantly subsidised seedlings.
For startup farmers,
The training programme will focus on providing fundamental knowledge and practical skills in both crop production and livestock farming. It will cover everything from land preparation and planting crops to raising and caring for livestock. After completing the programme, participants will be allocated a parcel of land to start their farming activities, and a functional website will be established for farmers to showcase their produce to a global audience and explore export opportunities. Farmers will also benefit from the ICED seed bank initiative, which provides heavily subsidised seedlings.
SMART HOMES AND SMART OFFICE SERVICE AND SALES
This involves training in IoT (Internet of Things), where trainees will learn how to set up smart homes and smart offices. After the training, a website will be created for the beneficiaries to offer these services, with access to smart devices whenever they undertake a commercial project and attract patronage.
CINEMATOGRAPHY AND FILM PRODUCTION
This programme is based on the idea that a thriving film industry can boost tourism, create cultural content, and attract investment by generating jobs and supporting the growth of the local film sector.
This feature offers workshops and training on technical skills such as cinematography, editing, sound design, framing, lighting, lens choice, video settings, composition, cutaway shots, and more. It also provides opportunities for business development, networking, and access to equipment and facilities. After the training, a website will be created for beneficiaries to showcase their content and productions, enabling global exposure and support.
We will assign the beneficiaries to experienced professionals for guidance and support, and assist in establishing connections with other filmmakers, distributors, and potential investors.
TELECOMMUNICATIONS & MODERN TELEPHONE SYSTEMS
Trainees will learn how to set up IP/PBX telephone services for offices, homes, and hotels. After the training, a website will be launched for beneficiaries to offer these services, along with an IP/PBX platform to support any commercial project and client requirements.
GRAPHICS DESIGN AND ARTIFICIAL INTELLIGENCE -AI INTEGRATION
Capacity building in this field focuses on enhancing skills, knowledge, and resources to effectively manage and grow a business in the design industry. This involves understanding AI’s role in design, learning to operate AI-enabled tools for tasks such as logo creation, image editing, and prototyping, and developing strategies to incorporate AI into workflows. After the training, participants will receive a functional website to establish a global presence and attract clients, showcasing their creativity and designs.
CNG VEHICLE CONVERSION
This program equips participants with the knowledge and skills to convert conventional petrol and diesel vehicles to Compressed Natural Gas (CNG) systems. Trainees gain hands-on experience in installation, maintenance, and safety procedures—promoting eco-friendly, energy-efficient, and cost-effective transport solutions.
AUTOMOBILE MECHATRONICS
This program combines mechanical, electrical, and computer engineering principles to train learners in diagnosing and repairing modern vehicles equipped with advanced electronic systems. It emphasizes the use of diagnostic tools, sensors, and software for accurate fault detection and efficient vehicle servicing.
AUTOMOBILE STEERING AND SUSPENSION SYSTEM
Participants will be trained to inspect, service, and maintain vehicle steering and suspension systems. The program will cover key concepts such as wheel alignment, shock absorber servicing, and modern steering control technologies to ensure optimal vehicle stability, handling, and safety.
TIRE VULCANIZING, WHEEL BALANCING AND ALIGNMENT
Participants will be trained to inspect, service, and maintain vehicle steering and suspension systems. The program will cover key concepts such as wheel alignment, shock absorber servicing, and modern steering control technologies to ensure optimal vehicle stability, handling, and safety.
AUTOMOBILE HEATING, VENTILATION AND AIR CONDITIONING (HVAC)
This program will provide learners with the expertise to install, maintain, and repair automotive HVAC systems. It will emphasize modern refrigerant management, energy-efficient system operation, and diagnostic procedures essential for maintaining passenger comfort and vehicle performance.
AUTOMOBILE BODY WORK AND PANEL BEATING
This program will focus on the repair and restoration of vehicle bodies using advanced tools and emerging technologies. Participants will receive training in key techniques such as dent removal, metal reshaping, and body alignment. The program will aim to equip them with the skills needed to restore vehicles to manufacturer specifications, ensuring structural integrity and aesthetic quality.
AUTOMOBILE BODY SPRAYING AND INTERIOR DETAILING
Participants are trained in automotive painting, color matching, and interior detailing techniques. The program covers spray-painting procedures, surface preparation, polishing, and finishing—enabling learners to achieve superior aesthetic quality and long-lasting protection for vehicle interiors and exteriors.
